Farming in Dave the Diver
Three types of passive farms provide a steady supply of fish, rice, vegetables, and seaweed — freeing you from constant diving for basic ingredients. Each unlocks progressively through the main story.

Farms unlock as you progress the main story, starting from Chapter 3.

How to Unlock
Complete "A Noisy Customer" quest — serve Otto Moray Eel Curry after getting the flashlight from Duff.
Management
- 9 slots representing different depth zones
- Fish eggs auto-transport to farm when you catch fish
- Same-type fish in a tank multiply daily
- Monitor density — red background means overcrowded, harvest some fish
- Harvested fish can be used for cooking, sold, or released
💡 Tip: Check the farm daily. Overcrowding stops reproduction. Prioritize high-value fish like Tuna and Manta Ray.
🌾Rice & Vegetable Farm
How to Unlock
Reach Sea People Village. After building trust, VIP Michael Bang visits. Serve his special dish. Otto opens the rice farm the next day.
Management
- 5 initial rice crops in the pool — expand via Otto's Shop
- Rice grows in ~2 days, multiple White Rice per crop
- Vegetable patches unlock after VIP Sammy visits
- Buy seeds from Otto, plant in patches
- Water regularly and remove weeds until upgrades are available
- 4 patches total — unlocked gradually through story progress
- Chickens unlock later: produce 2 eggs daily
💡 Tip: Use the FarmNow app on your phone to monitor crops. Remove withered crops immediately.
🌿Seaweed Farm
How to Unlock
Have both Fish Farm and Rice Farm. In Sea People village, get quest from Kazhin — retrieve a book from the temple. Get Seaweed Seed as reward. Cook a dish with Purple Sea Urchin, Rice, and Seaweed for farmer Gumo.
Management
- Best farm in the game — fully automatic, no tending required
- Plant seeds from Kazhin's shop
- Seaweed grows automatically in a few days (varies by type)
- Hard to gather seaweed while diving — it blends with environment
- Check farm at least once in Morning or Afternoon
💡 Tip: Prioritize the Seaweed Farm — it's passive income with zero upkeep once planted.
Best Fish for the Fish Farm

🌾 Rice Priority: Rice is the most important crop — it's a staple ingredient for most sushi dishes. Expand rice production early and check the FarmNow app daily.
Daily Routine
- Morning or Afternoon — Check all three farms at least once per day
- Fish Farm — Harvest overcrowded tanks. Prioritize removing low-value fish.
- Vegetable Farm — Water crops, remove weeds, remove withered plants.
- Seaweed Farm — Harvest grown seaweed, replant seeds from Kazhin.
- Otto's Shop — Buy seed expansions and farm upgrades as they unlock.
- FarmNow App — Vegetable farm only visible in-app. Check it between dives.
